Funke Akindele speaks for the first time after defying social distancing rule

Funke Akindele-Bello known as Jennifer has finally broken her silence since her arrest.  The actress says she has learnt a lot over the last few weeks after her arrest and trial for disobeying the lockdown order issued by the government.

In a video released on Instagram on Sunday, Funke thanked all the health workers who have been on the frontline of the pandemic since it’s emergence and paid condolence to the families of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the disease.

“My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We must collaborate with the Lagos State Government and Federal Government by staying at home, staying safe. Thank you for all the love, support, feedbacks and calls, I really appreciate. These past few weeks has been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward”  

Funke, popularly known as Jenifa, was arrested, charged to court and convicted by the state government for breaking the social distancing rule when she hosted a birthday party for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, aka JJC Skills. The actress and her husband, JJC Skillz where both trialed and fined for hosting a house party despite the lockdown order issued due to coronavirus.
