There are few armies that could defeat the US army but that hasn’t always been the case. There have been many groups who put up fights against them in the past and some didn’t even have fire guns. Here are the fifteen toughest Tribes feared by the US army.
1. Kiowa Tribe. They are a native American Tribe and waged war against anyone who the command Chey was at war with including the US army. They were hostile to white men and particularly during their raiding and trading days in Mexico.
They took part in the post wars of the civil war era, a war that saw most of the brutal fights between the American government and the native American people. Their entire culture is built around war and almost all their wars were conducted on horses in mountainous areas.
2. Cheyenne Tribe. They are a native American Tribe
3. Maori Tribe. They are known for their outstanding and intimidating hacker dance. They are fierce warriors. They managed to kill four European men the first time Captain Cook’s boat appeared in their territory.
4. Chukchi Tribe. They live in the Arctic region of Russia. Russia tried to wage war against the Chukchi but never won. At one point, the leader of the Chukchi killed the Russian commander and the Captain’s head was used as a trophy.
5. Kazakh People. They are from Asia and known to be great warriors and Eagle hunters. This tribe has never bowed to anyone in history. They are tough, resilient and incredibly strong. They are also self sufficient needing no help from anyone and can train their bodies to adapt to any kind of weather.
6. Goroka Tribe from Papua, New Guinea. They have lived in isolation for a long time due to natural wars and harsh conditions. They are fierce warriors and very much respected.
7. Yali Tribe. They live in Papua, New Guinea. They are cannibals, meaning they eat human flesh and extremely feared by their enemies. They mostly destroy the bodies of their enemies totally and could turn their bodies into dust and throw into the river.
8. Huaorani Tribe. They are an American tribe from Ecuador. They are quite good fighters and their weapon of choice is the spear. They have a poison that could paralyse the muscles and cause their target to cease motion.
9. Suri Tribe. They are found in Ethiopia and they learn how to stick fight at a very young age. Physical tactics and strength is of much importance to this tribe. They learn techniques fighters use in order to conquer them.
10. Korubo Tribe. They are one of the few left in the world living in total isolation from the outside world. They are about 170 in all and their weapon for hunting and warring is the club. Both men and women paint themselves with a red dye and can hide and wait in ambush you will never know they are coming towards you. They have shown very aggressive and violent communities.
11. Sentinelese Tribe. They are the only inhabitants of the Northern Sentinel Island in India. The area is patrolled by Indian navy and nobody is allowed into their land. They are always hostile and violent to anyone who visited the island. They throw arrows and stones to boats that gets too close. They have killed individuals who landed on their coast mistakenly.
12. Asaro mud men. They are a tribe from Papua, New Guinea. They paint their skin white and elongate their nails with bamboo sticks. They do this to scare their enemies and it works. It all started when they were defeated by an enemy tribe and had to flee into the Asaro river. They then waited until dusk to escape under the cover of the night’s darkness. When they rose from their hiding place, they covered themselves with mud and their enemies fled thinking they were spirits. This victory is still told today.
13. Shawnee People. Their chiefs were chosen on merits and skills such as hunting. They were forced to leave their land by the Euroquake in federation and that is when they started having a reputation as wonders. They were fierce and very skilled warriors and gave a hard time to the white colonisers who tried to steal their land. They started a resistance movement led by their Shawnee chief called Tikumsa who went down in their history books as the chief among chiefs because of his outstanding and diplomatic military skills.
14. Mohawk People. They are a tribe from North America and are recognised by their painted faces and red feathers on their heads. They moved around a lot but were found in New York state when the colonisation of America started. They had to move to Canada eventually but gave the British and French a very hard time. They were fierce warriors that fought against the colonisers. One interesting thing about this tribe is that only men can be chiefs and only women are permitted to vote for their chiefs.
15. Chimbu Skeleton Tribe. They are of the Mugamo tribe in the Chimbu province of Papua, New Guinea. They paint their entire body with clay and ash to look like a living skeleton. The reason why they paint like this is because they believe the best way of conquering your fears is to face them. Their first contact with the whites was quite recent in the mid 90’s and it’s believed that their ancestors started doing this to scare off the bad spirits of the forest and they are able to go about their business. They are fierce warriors.
