Ghana’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage of the tournament were dashed  following a 4-2 loss to Mali in their last group fixture.

The Black Satellites won their first game 2-1 against Burundi but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Senegal in the subsequent group match.

Third on the table behind Mali and Senegal, Yaw Preko’s outfit exited the championship after falling short of finishing among the top two.

Despite the team’s obvious failure, the 19 year old has taken some positives out of the entire experience.

“I will first like to apologize to Ghanaians for what happened in Morocco” he said in an interview Sports Pack

“We were all determined to impress and showcase our talents but unfortunately things didn’t go according to plan because we were faced with a lot of challenges, players were getting sick and other issues which didn’t help our cause.

“Nonetheless, I believe it was a good experience for us because most of us were new players and we needed that platform for the experience and to measure the standard.

“Personally it was a good experience for me and I learnt a lot from what happened and will use the lessons for the next chapter of my career”
