Diella TekuThe Oguaa electoral area in New Juaben South municipality mourns the untimely death of Assemblyman George Agyei Frempong, who passed away following an accident while attempting to repair a streetlight.
Frempong, a respected carpenter in his late thirties, was reportedly electrocuted and subsequently fell from an electricity pole.
According to local sources, Frempong, who was not a trained electrician, was working on the pole when he received a powerful electric shock, leading to his fall. Onlookers rushed him to the Eastern Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Frempong’s dedication to his community was evident in his hands-on approach, having been elected as the assembly member for Oguaa in the last district assembly elections. His tragic passing has left a void in the community he served so diligently.
