Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage recently shared insights into the delicate balance she maintains between her career and motherhood, underscoring the essential role of a supportive network in her life as a single mother. In an engaging interview on The Big Friday Show, hosted by BBNaija alumna Tacha and monitored by adowaadubianews.com on YouTube, Savage not only discussed her highly anticipated upcoming album but also opened up about the community that has helped her on her journey as a mother to her son, Jamil.

Savage revealed that raising Jamil as a single mother has truly been a team effort. “It takes a village,” she said, expressing her deep gratitude for the vital role her mother plays in helping her raise Jamil. “My mum is always there. She’s very instrumental,” Savage shared, adding that her family’s longtime nanny has been with them since Jamil was only three months old. Now, nine years later, the nanny is part of the family, playing a critical role in the singer’s support system.

In addition to her mother and nanny, Savage spoke warmly about Jamil’s godmothers, who step in to help when she’s on tour or has work commitments. This close-knit community has allowed her to pursue her career while knowing her son is in good hands. “As a mother, your job doesn’t end when your child gets older,” she noted, reflecting on her mother’s continuing role in her own life. “My mum still calls to check if I’ve eaten, tells me to drink water and rest, even now. Our jobs as mothers never end.”

Reflecting on her experience as a working mother, Savage said, “As women, we have this incredible superpower to juggle multiple things at once. I can be a full-time mom and a full-time career woman.” Her words resonated as a reminder of the resilience and adaptability that define so many women balancing career and family life.

This glimpse into Tiwa Savage’s personal journey highlights not only her devotion to her son but also her reliance on a network of women who rally around her. It’s a testament to her resilience and a powerful message about the strength that comes from community support.
