Diella TekuDr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has confidently projected victory in the upcoming 2024 elections, asserting that the only uncertainty lies in the margin by which he will defeat his opponents.
His optimism aligns with a recent poll conducted by Professor Smart Sarpong, which places him ahead of the competition with 49.1% of the projected vote share. The poll suggests a strong lead for Bawumia, positioning him as the frontrunner in what promises to be a highly competitive election.
Addressing a spirited crowd in the Saboba constituency on Saturday, November 23, Dr. Bawumia urged supporters to mobilize for a significant turnout on election day to secure a decisive win.
“Make no mistake about it. By the grace of God, Insha Allah, we are winning this election. The only issue for me today, if we vote today, is the gap,” he declared.
He further emphasized the importance of a substantial margin, adding, “How big a gap we are going to give our opponents? I want a big gap. I want all of you to come out because we want to beat them well, well.”
The Saboba rally marks a continuation of Dr. Bawumia’s robust campaign efforts across the country, where he has been rallying support and sharing his vision for Ghana’s future. His confidence in a wide-margin victory reflects the NPP’s strategy to consolidate its base while appealing to undecided voters.
The 2024 elections are set to be a pivotal moment in Ghana’s political history, with key issues such as economic recovery, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment dominating campaign discussions. Dr. Bawumia’s message of optimism and decisive victory resonates with his party’s goal to maintain its hold on power and implement its policies.
As the election draws nearer, voter turnout and the effectiveness of grassroots mobilization are expected to play critical roles in determining the outcome. Dr. Bawumia’s rallying call for an overwhelming victory underscores the NPP’s resolve to leave no room for ambiguity in the election results.
