During a visit to his farms in Yapei and Busunu over the weekend, Mahama expressed his deep-rooted connection to agriculture, describing it as his first love and a pursuit he intends to embrace fully upon retiring from politics.
Reflecting on his agricultural passion, Mahama noted, “Farming is my life. I love it. I am sure if I didn’t go into politics, I would be a full-time farmer.” His statement underscored his unwavering commitment to the sector, which he views as a vital part of his identity and a fulfilling endeavor beyond public service.
Mahama, who has long been an advocate for agriculture and rural development, emphasized that his future lies on the farm. “When I retire after this stint, of course, I am going to go into full-time farming. If you want to see me, you will have to come here, to the farm,” he stated, signaling his determination to return to his roots.
His farms in Yapei and Busunu are already a testament to his agricultural interests, showcasing his involvement in the sector even amidst a demanding political career.
