On Friday 29th May 2020 marked the third year Major Captain Mahama was lynched by the people of Denkyira over claims that they thought he was an armed robber.
Some Ghanaians who heard about the sad exit of this hero celebrated him. Major captain Mahama was sent on a national duty as a military personel to look after illegal mining activities that had become prevalent at Denkyira at the time but unfortunately he met his untimely demise.
He was said to have been joking along the street where he saw a snail seller and called to purchase some but the woman who sells the snails upon seeing Maxwell’s military gun perceived him for an armed robber and therefore blew an alarm where the villages lynched Maxwell.
The whole community was sent under curfew after a video of how the villagers killed the military officer and many of the people whose faces showed up in the video were arrested.
His wife while celebrating him on Friday penned down a heartbreaking message which has set people crying again.
Expressing how she feels she wrote; It feels like you ‘ve been gone for just 3 days. Continue to rest well Maxwell. We miss you is an understatement. Jaden still remembers that you told him you were going to come back from that journey.
