The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned it will not be ready to listen to any clergy or well-meaning individuals and institutions in the country, when things get out of hand on December 9, 2020.
The so-called clergy and well-meaning individuals and institutions who have refused to speak about the posture of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) relation to the compilation of the new register the party has said.
According to the NDC, if these people cannot speak now, they should not wait till December 9, when things turn otherwise to start calling the NDC.
The former Member of Parliament(MP) for Adenta Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and a Presidential Staffer in the immediate past John Dramani Mahama’s administration, Kojo Adu Asare let the cat out of the bag speaking on Accra-based Power FM’s afternoon political discussion programme hosted Mugabe Massey.
‘We will not listen to them come December 9, after the elections, when they start calling, we block all calls to ex-president John Dramani Mahama’s cell phone’ he warned.
He further warned’we will not allow Mahama to pick any calls from these so-called well-meaning people who refused to speak when the ills were perpetrated by the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and the Electoral Commission.
‘When things get out of hand, these people who claim to have the nation at heart and are not speaking against the posture of the NPP led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, we also will not be ready to listen to them after December 9’ he said.
If the good people say they have cotton buds in their ears at this crucial moment of the country’s history in relation elections in the country, we also will not pay heed to any of their pleas when things go wrong during and after elections he posited.
He said the country is at the crossroads over the Electoral Commission’s decision to compile a new voter’s register with only six months to an election.
According to him, this is the time for these people who claim to have the nation Ghana at heart must be heard speaking and calling on the NPP and the EC to do the needful to ensure fairness during and after the elections.
‘As leaders in the NDC’, ‘we are going to ensure none of our leaders attend any so-called reconciliation meetings come December 9, he stressed.
He reminded them not to wait and start calling on December 9 when things go wrong.
