FrimpongThe Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has shared some insights into how he rescued the company from total collapse when he took over the administration of GIHOC.
He made all these revelations on ModernGhana Exclusives when the Editor, William Nana Beeko, and the team engaged and interacted with him recently.
Mr. Kofi Jumah recalled that the company was faced with staff demonstrating in red bands every day upon his arrival.
He mentioned that the NPP administration has since restored hope to workers of the company, raising the bar in corporate resuscitation.
On how calm was restored and the fortunes of GIHOC turned around, find out more in this interview.
“It all started with an increase in the salary base of all workers; the lowest-paid from GHC250 to GHC1,000 minimum. This helped relieve most of the employees from the numerous loans they were struggling to pay off.”
Mr. Jumah proudly mentioned that an in-house canteen and clinic have since been established within the company, to meet the basic needs of workers while at work.
He added that staff now were now entitled to some incentives, aside from their monthly salaries, ranging from free transportation to a refund of medical bills.
“We rely on the extra talents of workers to fix issues at GIHOC, to reduce costs”
