FrimpongThe Chief Scribe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has said that although he condemns Carlos Ahenkorah’s callousness, he did not breach any law in the country.
Carlos Ahenkorah has received backlash for admitting that he went to the various registration centres in Tema West although he knew he had tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 virus.
Reacting to this in an interview on Accra-based TV 3, the General Secretary of the NPP said: “I don’t know which doctor advised that even when he has been discharged from the hospital he can still go around observing [the ongoing registration exercise] in the midst of a lot of people”.
He further told the Hot Issues host that “I think that it is wrong. For us as a party we are advising him that it is unfortunate, it is improper for him to go round monitoring the registration exercise. I think leadership should show by example”.
On whether there is the need for government to sack the Minister, John Boadu said such calls are “overstretched”.
“What all of us are saying is that since he has tested positive, it will be better and appropriate on his part to self-isolate.
On whether the Deputy Minister broke any law, Mr. Boadu said “If you say he has broken a certain law, I doubt”.
