Photos: Woman dies on Sunday after getting married on Saturday

Death, no doubt is inevitable for mankind but dying at the brink of one’s happiness, at the apogee of one’s joy, at a joyful moment of one’s life is execrable.Yesterday, the ugly news of a young lady who died 24 hours after her wedding ceremony in Delta State has continued to elicit sad reactions from members of the public.

According to Sapele Oghenek, a foremost Sapele-based blog on Facebook, the young lady identified as Elk Vivian married to one Mr Noble died a day after her wedding ceremony in Delta State.

She was married to her husband amidst pomp and splendor on Saturday, 19th July but on Sunday, she was no more. She croaked.From Investigation, it was gathered that Vivian had been sick of late but since her wedding had already been fixed, she had to put herself together and with every vim left within her went on with the marriage proceedings.

A close scrutiny at her hand, reveals that she came to the wedding ground with a drip line impaled in her vein indicating she has been quickly discharged from the hospital for the ceremony. It’s glaring that’s she was probably recuperating before being pressurized to go ahead with the ceremony that ended her life.Her nature of sickness as at the time of this report was not ascertained. The family is still in deep pain to release a statement to that effect.Meanwhile, many people have expressed sadness over the incident while rebuking the family for choosing an event over the health of their daughter.

Nothing is worth more than life itself. Just like the Igbos would say, “Ndubuisi,” which means life is supreme. It’s when someone is healthy and sound that he/she could carry on the race of life. Stress, sickness and other contributing factors truncate life of which we must not joke about.May her gentle soul rest in peace, Amen!
