The Special Assistant to the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party and a Member of NPP’s Communication Team Abeka Dauda Avegyene has questioned the actual faces behind the Secessionists fighting for Independence for the Volta Region.
According to Abeka Dauda, the real identity of the group is not known event though they are fighting for independence.
Speaking on the Newspaper Review Show on GTV, Dauda stated that the major stakeholders in the Volta region, that is, the regional ministers, the deputies, as well as the energy minister Peter Amewu and the chiefs alike have all declined any knowledge of the seccionist group fighting for Independence and for that reason makes it baffling to understand or identify who the Seccionist are fighting for.
He furthermore noted that, the actual reason for the various attacks in the Volta Region can not be made known
Abeka Dauda on the other hand revealed that before the Oti Region was created, major stakeholders in the Volta Region lead by the Togbe Afede had to petition the president H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and due process was followed for an agreement to be reached before the creation of the region.
In other words, Abeka Dauda acknowledged that there were no casualties or violence during Ghana’s struggle for independence from the British and therefore condemned the people who are behind the current unfortunate happenings in the Volta Region.
“There must be a concrete solution or process should be done before attacks gets out of hands, and those behind the secessionists attacks should be made to face the full rigors of the law for the damage done so it would serve as a deterrent to others”, he concluded.
