The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has blasted the erstwhile John Mahama government, stating that less reasoning was put into their decision to build community day schools.

In an exclusive interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, the Minister stated that most of the community day schools were sited at places that make it difficult and unattractive for students to go to school.

In a direct message to the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah stated that “you didn’t think before setting up your community day school. They should have been sited at places where the community in populated and there is easy mobility.”

He however praised and credited the NDC for siting one of the schools at Dome-Kwabenya noting that it was built at a right place.

“Look at the one at Dome-Kwabenya, it is perfect. But aside that they built most of the schools in bushes”, he said.

He recounted an unfortunate incident where he and his team visited a town to inspect of the schools the Mahama administration built.

According to him, “the school in the town was very far. From the town to the school is 7 kilometres, we visited the place in our land cruisers but we couldn’t complete the trip because it had also rained”, he said.
