Black Stars beat their Sudanese counterparts in the 2022 AFCON Qualifier at Cape Coast.

The Stars started the game the brighter and stood firm at the back to prevent the visitors from scoring on the counter break in the first quarter of the match.

On the 18th minute of the match, Ghana were awarded a free kick close to the goal and captain Andre Ayew stepped up to expertly hit the back of the net to put the hosts 1-0 up before half way through the first half.

In the closing stages of the opening 45 minutes, Sudan felt they should’ve been awarded a penalty after John Boye’s untimely tackle inside the box but the referee ignored the striker’s attempt to win a penalty as the continued.

On the stroke of half time, Ayew thought he had scored his second goal the match only for the referee to controversially disallow his headed effort and subsequently blew his whistle to end the first half.

Ayew scored again in the second half with ten minutes on the clock to help Ghana secure their third successive win ahead of the 2022 AFCON which would be held in Cameroon.
