Court Remands Man For Beating Staff Of Honeywell Foods To Death

Ebuta Meta Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos has docked a 27-year-old man identified as Damilola Farojoye for allegedy hitting and killing a staff of Honeywell Foods, Omokhogie Francis Ayogwokha with a wooden stick.

We learnt that the deceased identified as Omokhogie intervened when the defendant was fighting with his wife and Farojoye reportedly hit the deceased on the head with a wooden stick causing his death.

Speaking on the matter, the Prosecuting counsel, Inspector Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 21, 2019, at about 8.30a.m., on Adidas Field, Tolu, Ajegunle, Lagos State.

The defendant is facing a count of murder but his plea was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo, remanded him at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre fpending advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.

Adedayo adjourned the case until February 11, 2020, for mention.
