FrimpongEveryone got ways of dealing with his/her broken heart. As some take to drinking and heavy smoking after getting their hearts broken, others turn to cry and keep themselves locked in their rooms for days without eating.
One last thing that people would be expecting is for one to become popular with his/her broken hearts story and that is the case of these four Ghanaian musicians who decided to put their broken hearts stories into songs which later became hit across the globe.
In no particular order, check out the list below:
PYung is the latest Ghanaian musician to become famous thanks to his broken heart song “Atta Adwoa” which went viral some weeks ago thanks to his video.
In an exclusive interview, he defined his genre of music as ‘twi trap’ and that the inspiration to record the song was because he suffered a severe heartbreak from a girl.
“The inspiration behind Attaa Adwoa is heartaches. Attaa Adwoa is my first love but she broke my heart. The whole thing is I trusted her too much”.
“I was spending a night in the studio and the first thing I kicked wasn’t working. Around 4 am I started doing things and me being alone I started remembering things, I was in my emotions and I just dropped that,” He revealed.
2. Kofi Mole – Don’t be late
The artiste revealed that his hit song ‘Don’t Be Late’ was birthed because of the heartbreak.
According to the ‘Don’t Be Late’ hit-maker, the song, that gained him more popularity than he expected, was recorded within an hour after he walked into the studio to nurse his broken heart.
Kofi Mole said that he believes the breakup has been a blessing in disguise and always giving thanks to his ex for breaking up with him.
“I’ve always been thanking her for it, she made me someone I’ve always dreamt to be,” Mole noted.
3. Akwaboah Jnr – I do Love You
Akwaboah’s song released in 2016 according to him was written out of the several relationship heartbreaks he had.
Explaining further, he said, “it’s a very painful experience which one can only feel and understand better when hit by one, I never believed it’s real until it happened to me, I’ve experienced it twice but I managed it very well. There were times I told myself never to think of it but I found myself thinking about it subconsciously,” he stated.
He again added that; “the best part of this unfortunate incident is that, it inspired me to write some good songs, I have written a couple of good songs as a result of heartbreaks,”
4. Michy
Michelle Diamond Gbagonah, aka Michy has hugely benefitted from her break-up with Shatta Wale.
First, she has now acquired a building for herself, opened her hotel plus restaurant named ‘Michy’s Hideout’ and not to talk of her banger titled real lioness.
“I’m blessed to have experienced being every kinda ‘girl’. To grow & embrace my perfectly imperfect self cuz I realized that pretending to be anything other than yourself, you will never reach your destination & we don’t want that??? #wcw I’ve changed & unchanged my personality a million times being myself is the best of them all. Song Michy – real lioness,” she wrote on Instagram in the year 2019.
However, Michy also revealed that her breakup with Shatta Wale has been a blessing in disguise because she’s now closer to God.
