This comes after reports of some armed men attacking a bullion van of a bank in a broad light around the Korle-Bu- Bukom area shooting and killing 3 people in the cause of the robbery including a police officer who was part of the bullion van convoy.
Efia Odo reacting to the sad event that happened yesterday has wade into how she thinks the security agencies in the country especially the personnel(s) from the Ghana Police Service are not well equipped with protective gears in their line of duty.
She said the police don’t even have bullet proof vest to protect themselves but she was every shocked when she realized the government want to purchase bullet proof curtains for the Parliament House.
Efia Odo added that these are some of the instances the youth in the country are so eager to use the #FixTheCountry protest to demonstrate against bad leadership and governance in the country and urged the police service to join them in the protest.
Crime is in every part of the world. Ghanaian police men and women are not equipped with the right protective gear. They don’t even have bullet proof vest but they want to purchase bulletproof curtains for parliament. This is what fix the country is also about.
Our priorities are in all the wrong places. How can those who are supposed to protect us are not even protected themselves. Ghana police, please understand that #fixthecountry is about you too. This isn’t politics, this is about the livelihood of every Ghanaian. #FixTheCountry
