Former Blacktars strike and captain, Asamoah Gyan has angrily reacted to the squad that was announced yesterday by coach Otto Addo as the World Cup playoff against Nigeria comes off in four days’ time.
Yesterday, Thomas Partey, Afena Gyan, Jordan Ayew among others were unveiled to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria for the first leg of the World Cup playoff.
Many Ghanaians had their reservations about the squad and among them is striker Asamoah Gyan who showed he was impressed with the player’s selection by the coach as Anderlecht’s Majeed Ashimeru was not given a call-up.
According to Asamoah Gyan, Majeed is currently the best Ghanaian midfielder after Thomas Partey hence he should have been given a slot to play in the match against Nigeria.
“Majeed Ashimeru is the best midfielder in Ghana after Thomas Partey period. I have kept quiet on this but this nonsense must stop”
