A Vote for Me is a Vote for Ghana’s Transformation – Alan Kyerematen Says

Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Afrafranto Alliance and presidential candidate of the Movement for Change, has dismissed claims from rivals in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) that voting for him is a wasted effort. Speaking passionately to residents in Kumasi on November 18, 2024, he described these assertions as baseless propaganda aimed at undermining his vision for a transformed Ghana.

Kyerematen argued that such claims reflect the desperation of the two dominant parties, whose collective governance over the last 32 years, he said, has resulted in economic stagnation. He pointed to recent polls by reputable organizations, which indicate that 80% of Ghanaians are yearning for change and a leader with the character and competence to address the nation’s challenges.

The former Trade and Industry Minister challenged the notion that supporting his candidacy equates to throwing away votes. “The true waste of a vote,” he said, “is voting for leaders who fail to deliver on their promises.” Reflecting on decades of unmet expectations under NDC and NPP administrations, Kyerematen noted: “You voted for jobs, but unemployment is rising. You voted for better roads, yet they remain neglected. That is what constitutes a wasted vote. I am here to deliver, not to fail.”

Kyerematen urged voters to embrace the change they desire, emphasizing, “If the 80% of Ghanaians who want change vote for me, then I will win. Let’s focus on the solutions, not the propaganda.”

Highlighting his extensive experience, Kyerematen recounted his tenure at Empretec and Enterprise Africa, where he facilitated the establishment of businesses that now employ hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians. He declared himself the most experienced candidate when it comes to job creation, a key issue for the electorate.

Kyerematen also criticized the NDC and NPP for their failure to combat corruption effectively, stating: “After 32 years, instead of showing policies to address corruption, they’re locked in public spats over who is more corrupt. This is why I am proposing a government of national unity, driven by a comprehensive plan.”

At the core of Kyerematen’s vision is his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), a policy blueprint aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy. He outlined key priorities:

  • Fixing the macroeconomy to create a foundation for growth.
  • Expanding the agricultural, industrial, and tourism sectors to generate millions of jobs for the youth.
  • Implementing strategies to address corruption comprehensively.

These policies, he assured, would bring sustainable development and restore hope to Ghanaian families.

Alan Kyerematen positioned himself as a leader of unimpeachable integrity, pledging to govern with transparency and fairness. “I have never been corrupt, and I will never be corrupt,” he stated firmly, adding that his career has consistently demonstrated trustworthiness.

He called on Ghanaians to look beyond party affiliations and focus on the nation’s future: “This is not just another election; it’s a defining moment for our country. Let’s rise above partisan propaganda and elect a leader with the vision and proven ability to deliver.” he said

Kyerematen’s message has sparked a wave of enthusiasm, particularly among younger voters, as reflected in the strong online response to his recent interviews. With less than a year to the elections, the Movement for Change leader continues to build momentum, offering hope to Ghanaians disillusioned by decades of unmet promises.

In his concluding remarks, he said: “Vote for me, Alan Kyerematen, and together, we will transform our economy, create jobs, and usher in an era of prosperity for all.”
