Disqualified presidential candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike is calling on the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to also resign over claims made by the Special Prosecutor before leaving.

“Nana Addo must also resign today with immediate effect. He must resign immediately as President of the country to save himself from shame”, Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike said this in a studio discussion on Kumasi-based Pure FM monitored by MyNewsGH.

The outspoken politician comment comes after Special Prosecutor (SP) Martin Alamisi Amidu in a letter to President Akufo-Addo said he had resigned from his office as the Special Prosecutor with effect from Monday, November 16, 2020.

Mr. Odike who was speaking to Kwame Adinkra on the show Pure Morning Drive, insisted that the resignation of the President, “would demonstrate to the next generation that, Nana Addo was brave and principled like how Martin Amidu did by resigning after he was not able to execute his assigned duties”.

The UPP founder also noted that President Akufo-Addo won the 2016 election based on his promise to deal with corruption and also set up the office of the Special Prosecutor hence if he had failed, he the president must also resign honorably to save his face.
