A twenty-year-old unemployed man has escaped death from an angry mob at Gomoa Abudan in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The man is alleged to have snatched a motor from a rider, but luck eluded him as he was caught and attacked by the angry mob.
The rider according to RainbowRadio’s Nana Yaw Asare ordered for the service of the rider but in the course of the journey, attacked and robbed him of his bike.
Luck however eluded him as he was caught by an angry mob numbering over 100.
The District Police Commander DSP Osei Fofei confirmed the incident saying they received a district call, deployed officers to the scene but their men could not manage the situation because the mob outnumbered them.
He said the mob pelted stones at police demanding that the suspect is left for them to kill him.
He said they had to call for reinforcement from Kasoa, Cape Coast and Pentecost before the suspect was rescued.
The officer who was tacked he said has been treated and discharged.
Meanwhile, he has advised the suspect who attacked the police to report himself at the police station.
