Joe PeeAn auto mechanic has been crushed to death after the truck he was repairing fell on him in Ajao Estate, Lagos.
The tragic incident occurred on Monday, September 14 at dusk.
As of the time of filing this report the name of the deceased is unknown.
However, it was gathered by The Vanguard Newspaper that the fully loaded twain 20-feet containerized truck slipped-off from the jack and crushed the mechanic who was working underneath.
Immediately, eyewitnesses sort to save the deceased but all efforts proved abortive. The officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, were thereafter contacted. Upon retrieval of the body, the mechanic was confirmed dead.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to the Ajao Estate Police Division.
The police officers at the scene advised residents that safety should not be left solely to emergency responders, he also urged them to take their personal safety seriously.
“Personal Safety comes first and precaution is very Key to personal safety. Personal safety should not be arrogated to emergency responders alone. because this is the responsibility of all.”
