Banker Shot Dead, Police Officer Fatally Wounded In A Robbery Attack.

Information reaching Adwoaadubianews.com indicates, unknown armed men suspected to be armed robbers has attacked a Bullion Van at Manso–Kumasi road in the Ashanti region leaving one Bank staff dead instantly with a police officer and one other fatally wounded in the daylight robbery.

According to reports, four-member team were on board with a Toyota Hilux bullion van with registration number GE 3978 – 20 driven by one Antwi Boasiako of Agate Mabot, a private security firm on an escort from Manso-Asaman to various banks in Kumasi.

On reaching a section of the road near Manso-Mem junction, the team were attacked by masked men numbering about seven with four of them wielding AK 47 assault rifles.

After serious of exchange of gunshots the robbers, according to the report, managed to run away with unspecified amount of money concealed in two huge boxes.

Reports indicates that, the suspected robbers further seized two AK 47 assault rifles which contained about 30 rounds of ammunition from the police officers who was on duty.

The deceased and the injured police officers have been sent to the Manso hospital whilst police has commenced a search for the armed men.
