Diella TekuPopular social media figure, Idris Okuneye, known to fans as Bobrisky, has announced a temporary departure from Nigeria, citing health and mental well-being as his primary concerns. Following a recent release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Bobrisky revealed he faced repeated obstacles from security agencies that allegedly disrupted his attempts to leave the country.
In a series of social media posts, Bobrisky expressed frustration over his travel ordeal, noting it took him three attempts before he successfully boarded a flight. “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health,” he shared, alluding to the challenges he claims were orchestrated by certain security bodies.
The controversial figure further explained that he had incurred considerable expenses due to the setbacks. According to Bobrisky, he spent a total of N9.8 million on three business class tickets with KLM Airlines, managing to use only one while awaiting refunds for the others. He stated, “Imagine!!! Buying business class ticket 3 times, only 1 was successful… @klm I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. Each business class cost me 9,800,000.”
Bobrisky disclosed that he finally left Nigeria on November 3, 2024, and shared his frustration with the hurdles encountered during this journey.
In a closing remark on Instagram monitored by adwoaadubianews.com, he took aim at critics who questioned his financial capability, remarking, “Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford 3 business class seats, not to talk of buying it 3 times. Well, I’m not in Nigeria so ur comment means nothing. Cheers.”
The controversial public figure has not indicated when he plans to return but emphasized that he is currently focused on recuperating away from the pressures he faced in Nigeria.
