FrimpongGhana Premier league side Asante Kotoko has been handed a one year player transfer ban to allow the club to build its youth side.
A directive from the Owner and life patron of the Club Otumfoɔ Osei Tutu II to the newly formed board of directors has asked them not to sign any new player for one year.
At the Inaugural ceremony of the new Board, Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace Kofi Badu told the board to go strickly by the directives of the owner which is geared towards making the club a self financing amd self sustaining
“Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed that Asante Kotoko should not sign any new player for the first team for a period of one year. The club has enough players to serve them for the period in question.” Kofi Badu Chief of Staff, Manhyia Palace told media men.
The Otumfoɔ Osei Tutu II in naming the new Board charged them to ensure the club builds its Academy, and to ensure the first team is fed from players in the Academy.
