Coronavirus Update: Bawumia to launch ‘COVID 19 Tracker’ to fight Coronavirus

The Vice President, Dr. Mahammud Bawumia in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication will launch a computer/mobile program software application as part of the effort to combat the deadly coronavirus.

The APP which is named “GH COVID- 19 Tracker” will be premier on Monday, April 13, 2020, at 4:00PM, and would be available for Android and iOS devices after its launch.

The APP is to serve as productivity assistance for government in order to enhance the state’s efforts in identifying and tracing anyone who has come into contacts with persons carrying the COVID -19 virus.

The event will gather the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Vice President of Ghana; Dr Alhaji Bawumia, Minister of Communications; Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, it will also attract illustrious media personalities who will spread the use of the app to the “less privileged” in the society.

Experts will also train people to find their way around the App and give an insight of who can use the App.

Charles Nii-Armah Mensah, professionally known as Shatta Wale and Kuami Eugene have been enlisted to entertain patrons who would gather at the function to witness the launch of the mobile software application.

The two Ghanaian recording and performing artistes are expected to dish out top-notch performance with the live band. They will be serving a host of tunes from their catalogue, including “Borjor”, “My Level”, “Only One Man”, “Akwele Take”, “Angela”, “Wish Me Well”, “Obiato” Enjoyment”.

The launch will air live on GHONE, UTV, GTV, Youtube, Facebook and other platforms.
