Diella TekuThe East Legon community came together in grief to remember Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, two young students from Cornerstone International Academy who lost their lives in a devastating car accident on October 12, 2024.
On Friday, October 18, family members, friends, and local residents gathered at the crash site to hold a candlelight vigil in their honor. The emotional ceremony was filled with prayers, tributes, and moments of silent reflection, as attendees mourned the loss of the two girls, whose lives were tragically cut short.
The fatal accident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako lost control of a Jaguar SUV, leading to a fiery collision with an Acura vehicle, resulting in the tragic deaths. Following the incident, Elrad’s parents, Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, were arrested but later released on bail worth GH¢50,000.
In the wake of the accident, Bishop Salifu Amoako issued a public apology, expressing profound sorrow and seeking forgiveness from the families affected by the tragedy.
