A small community in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region has been shaken by a tragic incident where 20-year-old Samuel Obeng allegedly murdered his 8-year-old brother, Messiah Akomeah.
The heartbreaking event took place in a secluded bush near Kwamo, where Obeng reportedly lured his younger brother before committing the gruesome act. According to reports, Obeng later confessed to his uncle, Kofi Appiah, stating that he was driven by a spirit to carry out the horrific killing.
Details from the crime suggest that Obeng used a kitchen knife to slit his brother’s throat before further mutilating him with a dagger. He then attempted to hide the body by dragging it into a nearby pond. The family, which consists of five children, has been devastated by the loss, with Obeng’s uncle discovering the blood-soaked body of young Messiah after being informed of the incident.
Obeng, who is known to be a chronic weed smoker, has left the community in shock as they grapple with the violent nature of the crime and his disturbing claim of spiritual possession.
