Fire has razed down the recently renovated Bachongsa Teachers Quarters in the Builsa South District.

The cause of the fire is not known but an investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the fire.

No casualty was recorded and no one was injured in the process.

The teachers’ quarters was recently renovated and handed over to the teachers by the Member of Parliament Dr. Clement Apaak.

After news broke of the outbreak, he has promised to once again assist with the renovation again.

According to him, he is awaiting the outcome of the investigation and report from the District Education Directorate.

He extended gratitude to the Fire Service for their swift intervention.

A statement issued by the legislator read:

Fire Guts Bachongsa Teachers Quarters –

Earlier today I got a call from my branch executives in Bachongsa and later, Danda, the contractor who renovated the Bachongsa teachers quarters informing me that the teachers’ quarters recently renovated and handed over was in flames.

Though fire tenders arrived from both Sandema and Fumbisi, and the firemen and women did their best, the damage was severe. Thankfully no life was lost and no injuries sustained by the teachers, students, or community members in the vicinity. I thank God almighty for that.

I thank the Fire Service for their swift intervention, given the distances from both Fumbisi and Sandema.

I will dispatch a team to visit and assess the damage as I await an official report from the District Director of Education and the Ghana Fire Service.

Very unfortunate, but I will do my best as always.

Dr. Clement Apaak
M.P, Builsa South
