Joe PeeThe strike embarked by drivers yesterday will remain one of the historic ones. It is interesting how some few hours of the strike had vividly shown the importance of drivers in the development of Ghana.
It came as no surprise when the President himself had to intervene in the strike. And as expected, a positive outcome and news have been heard. Fuel prices will be reduced to GHC 6.7 effective tomorrow
This will become a reality since the government has ordered GOIL to reduce the price of fuel. This means that there has been a GHc 0.15 reduction.
This good news was made known by the Head of Communication of the GPRTU in an interview on PM Express, Joy News. Many Ghanaians have massively reacted to this development.
Don Wale expressed shock at how the government was able to direct a company that has been listed on the stock exchange market since he considered it as impossible. Nathaniel Ladejo also vented his anger at GOIL for adding to the list of companies who impose high fuel prices on their buyers in their bid to exploit them. He went ahead to compare the price of fuel at GOIL to Goodness fuel price which stands at 6.56 as at now. According to him, GOIL cannot beat the fuel price of Goodness.
