In an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, award-winning Ghanaian artist KiDi spoke out about the transforming impact of his absence from music in February this year.

The ‘I Lied’ hitmaker said how the break has allowed him to experience major personal development and transformation, notably in how he responds to trolls and fake news spread on social media.

“There has been a lot of shift in my mind. I am not the same person I was in February. Now I have reached a place where I understand certain things in life,” he candidly shared.

In February, he had to cancel his North American tour due to undisclosed health issues, which led to speculations and unfounded rumours about his health, including the false claim of suffering from a stroke.

Addressing his fans and the public in an Instagram post, Kidi stated, “A little under two months ago, I made the painful decision of cancelling my tour to take care of my health that included taking time off social media. In that time, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from family, friends, fans and the brands i work with. You all made me feel incredibly loved in this difficult period and I can’t appreciate you enough”

According to him, his hiatus provided him with an opportunity to rethink numerous elements of his life and obtain clarity on how to tackle the obstacles that come with popularity and internet criticism.

During the conversation, one of the main topics of discussion was how the singer currently handles with internet hostility and incorrect information.

KiDi’s reaction emphasised that he has come to see that the harsh comments and false allegations that are frequently made at celebrities are not a genuine picture of who they are as persons.

“I now know that when people come on social media and say the things they say, it’s not really about me. Some of them are unhappy in life. If you are unhappy, you take that out on anything and everything,” he said.
