Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur, Desmond Blackmore, well known as D-Black, has narrated how Dr Kwame Owusu Fordjour aka Dr UN tricked them to accept the fake UN/Kofi Annan Foundation awards.
Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ Show, the Black Avenue Muzik bigwig revealed he was in the United States of American when the first email from the organizers came in.
He indicated that the message was forwarded to him by one of his aides in Ghana. After he went through, D-Black said he gave a directive to his workers to inform him on the next email or letter that would be sent.
The ‘Give It 2 Me’ composer said he was informed about the next letter—and he put it on his agenda.
Interestingly, D-Black divulged he was convinced because of Kofi Annan’s name attached to the award, thinking that it was indeed coming from the quarters of the United Nations.
He talked about how the organizers asked him to give them the names of the people he would be attending the event with and he obliged.
While waiting for the tickets to the award ceremony, D-Black said he nearly run out of patience because they delayed in sending the tickets—and later they sent a booklet which would be used as a by-pass when he reaches the venue with his team.
Fast-forward to the event venue, D-Black disclosed that he met Sarkodie, Nathaniel Attoh, Chiefs and other dignitaries.
However, the coordination of the ceremony gave him a hint that something was wrong somewhere.
After he checked on the programme line up, he realized most of the dignities mentioned to be given speeches, the Vice President, Minister of Defense and others were not present at the ceremony.
The awarding-winning musician recounted how he and Sarkodie were disappointed at a point in time. He revealed Sarkodie was asked to present more awards/plaque to other awardees after he took his.
He also reminisced Dr UN’s composure and bad English speaking which forced them out from the venue.
Though he laughed out loud after it came out that the award was not originally from the United Nations, D-Black stressed on the need for Dr UN to be fish out within two weeks.
