Because more than anybody, Rwanda understand what it is like not to have peace and security in your own country. It is no-bueno.

We have been through enough and have seen enough. Peace, security and stability is not negotiable in Rwanda today. We are all on the same page on sustaining a peaceful-Rwanda.

The government has done a good job ensuring that safety is 100% maintained all over the country. This is the results of working together with the people of Rwanda. Community engagements at all levels of government institutions in cities, urban centers, and rural areas.

When regular citizens and their government understand the importance of safety and security in the country and have the will and determination to make it happen together, the rest is easy from there. It helps the police force to eliminate inefficiencies and miscellaneous waste, which cuts costs down very considerably. This is what Rwanda has done sustainably for over 15-years now.

I would definitely give them an A+ if I was grading their performance over the last decade.

Their efforts have paid off big time that Rwanda is not just the safest countries in Africa, but also, the world. Guess who ranks 9th worldwide? Rwanda.

To answer your question directly, Rwanda is safe because

  • Rwandans values their safety and are willing to do whatever it takes to maintain it.
  • The collaboration between private and public sector as well as public engagement with the people.
  • Our police force is very professional, efficient and one of the best in Africa and honestly in the world. Say hello to Law and Order from RNP.

Rwanda National Police ( RNP) for safety and peace in Rwanda.

  • Our Armed forces work hard ( day and night) to protect the whole country. When I go to sleep at night, I know ( damn well) that men and women in uniform got my safety in check.

By the way ( FYI), majority of African countries are safe too! As of June 2018, I would not hesitate to go to 47-50 of all 55 countries today or tomorrow.

Hope this helps.

  • Fun fact: Rwanda is small but they have the most expensive building in Africa too. Dreaming and achieving big stuff is what Rwanda is all about today.
