FrimpongThe Overlord of the Asante Kingdom Otumfour Osei Tutu II has appealed to the local media to be positive-minded and eschew all forms of attitude that hinders the progress of Asante Kotoko.
In a statement presented on his behalf by the Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace, Kofi Badu -during the inauguration of the Kotoko’s new board-, Otumfour Osei Tutu II requested that the media places the club’s interest first and not set out to destroy it to satisfy their individual agenda.
The 9 member board led by Dr. Kwame Kyei has been tasked to steer the club back to the old glory days and the media have been urged to respect their services and stay away from the commentary that tarnishes their image.
“His Majesty wishes to make a special appeal to the media,” Mr. Kofi Badu said during the inauguration of Kotoko’s new board.
“His majesty has brought these noble men and women to place their expertise at the disposal of the golden stool to serve Asanteman.
“It is our duty to respect the services that they are offering…and render onto them the recognition and support that is due them
“It is my hope that the media will wise up, and accept hereafter to close the door to all the negative attitude that has prevailed in your relationship with Kotoko…Promote Kotoko’s progress and not destroy it,” he ended.
