FrimpongThe Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, has confirmed his strong grip on the insider activities of the opposition National Democratic Congress and its Presidential Candidate, Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
Over the past months, the hardworking Regional Chairman, who has been a thorn in the flesh of the NDC, has been exposing some alleged plans within the NDC in the lead up to the December 7 elections which is 30 days away.
According to him, the NDC, in their attempt to recapture power has allegedly devised several plans to cause “distractions” and “insecurity” on the voting day, especially in the Ashanti Region
But the NDC is keenly monitored by the intelligence machinery set up by Chairman Wontumi.
Last week, the Ashanti Regional Chairman on Wontumi TV/FM made a shocking exposé about how the opposition party was allegedly training hoodlums in a secret location to confuse on the voting day.
He claims the revelations left the leadership of the NDC in total disarray – fuelling suspicions that the NPP Chairman had his ears within the rank and file of the opposition NDC.
The latest revelation from the stables of the NPP Regional Chairman is “the planned itinerary of the flagbearer of the NDC to the Ashanti Region.”
Mr. John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to tour the region from Tuesday 10 November to Saturday, November 15, but even before he begins his visit, Mr. Wontumi has said he already knows his plans.
According to him, “the NDC is scheduled to visit about 30 constituencies in the region.”
“The leadership of these 30 constituencies has therefore been instructed to comb through their communities to identify projects initiated by the NDC administration but which have been abandoned, unfulfilled promises by the NPP administration” he alleged
Adding that “I want to tell Former President Mahama that I have my eyes and ears inside his party; he should not try anything mischievous because I will find out. All their plans are in my pocket”
