Power FM Political show host and broadcaster, Mugabe Maase has sent a word of caution to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Benard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, over his recent insults targeted at former president John Mahama and his wife.
Wontumi recently accused the NDC flagbearer of being corrupt and indicated that the NDC leader’s wife, Lordina Mahama, will vote against her husband in the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2020.
The NPP chairman, who has been tagged as an illegal mining kingpin in the Ashanti region following his connection with big wigs in government, alleged that the former president is a womanizer and does not fit to be re-elected into the presidency again.
Speaking on his TV station, Wontumi TV, the loud but empty NPP leader in the NPP’s stronghold who has deliberately resorted to throwing invectives at the NDC flagbearer and his Running Mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, to divert attention from the Akufo-Addo administration’s failure in the Ashanti region said without any tangible reason that Mahama does not deserve the presidency.
But reacting to Wontumi’s assertions on his show, Inside Politics on Power 97.9 FM, Mugabe Maase asked the NPP chairman to stop his “buffoonery” before he and NDC supporters descend on him in a blistering manner.
“Wontumi, I am warning you, we can all descend in the gutters with you and show you that you can’t attack our John Mahama,” Mugabe warned and said the NDC had sent shock to the NPP because of how the electorates are cheering the NDC in the Ashanti region.
Mugabe promised to match Wontumi “boot for boot” and ensure that Ghanaians see the failure of the NPP in the country.
He said the NPP bigwigs are not morally upright to call Mr Mahama unprintable names, saying “We can expose the NPP big men and you’ll be sorry.”
He said Mr Mahama was more responsible than the leaders of the NPP hence Wontumi had to tag the NDC leader with lies to look good and hastened that he will use his platform to deal with Wontumi whom he described as useless as well as other loud mouths who will stop at nothing to malign Mr Mahama to score cheap political points.
