FrimpongNew Patriotic Party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako known in political circles as Chairman Wontumi, has once again descended heavily on John Mahama’s decision to lead the NDC into the next elections and termed it as “deliberately thwarting the efforts of Haruna Iddrisu to become the NDC’s Presidential candidate in future.”
Speaking on his own Wontumi TV/Radio in Kumasi on Monday said the former President’s behaviour amounts to “ jealousy “ as well as “greed.”
He stated that the former President is fully aware that he will lose the election but because he wants to thwart the efforts and kill the ambition of the Tamale South MP and Minority Leader, he has positioned himself as the proverbial “Konongo Kaya” just to frustrate Hon. Haruna Iddrissu.
Chairman Wontumi who appears to have some sympathies for the astute Tamale politician one of the longest-serving MP’s in the country has cautioned umpteenth time that “with John Mahama as the flag bearer of the NDC in the December election, the NPP will win the polls one touch.”
According to him Ghanaian voters got fed up with the NDC’s administration with John Mahama as the leader, before they virtually booted him out of office in the 2016 election.
”The anger and anguish Ghanaian suffered under his regime are still fresh in their memory yet John Mahama is upbeat and behaves as if he is the wisest person within the ranks of the NDC. But he cannot hide his motive which is to claim the rich Nyinahin bauxite concession and give it to his brother which can never happen.” Chairman Wontumi stressed.”
