On June 3, 2015, 154 lives were lost in devastating floods and fire explosions with more than 100 people sustaining various degrees of burns in the incident.

Five years down the line, Bishop Daniel Obinim, Head Pastor of the International God’s Way Church, has claimed he saved some victims spiritually on that day.

Bragging about his spiritual prowess to three of his junior pastors in a three minutes forty-nine seconds video, which has gone viral on social media, the self-acclaimed angel explained that, Jesus prompted him about the twin disaster and tasked him to save his children.

Speaking in the Twi dialect monitored by GhanaWeb, he narrated, “I turned myself into a different person to save people because spiritually I turned into a different person and wore overall…I was sleeping when Jesus told me Obinim act fast, act fast, act fast to save people.

I asked him why, and he replied there’s fire etc…So I locked my door and lied on my bed. My spirit left me and fast I went to circle. When I got there, the fire was overwhelming. I saw only 2 church members…I acted fast to save them.

But a glance I saw a girl who was being burnt by the fire, then Jesus told me, she is not your child but she is a member of DagHeward Mills. So save her because she’s a Christian. I acted fast and dived into the flood, held her at her back to pull her out…I worked for some people but they don’t know it is me.”

To prove to his pastors that he was not lying to them, he reiterated that he is aware God will judge everyone one day, adding that, he’s only on earth for a special assignment.

“Massa what I’m saying, the bible says you will be judged according to your words. Jesus Christ will judge you one day. Please I came for a purpose. I’m here for assignment, when I finish my assignment I will go back. So when you are talking bad at Obinim, be very careful,” he warned critics.

Meanwhile, Bishop Obinim has been charged with the offenses of false publication of news and forgery of documents contrary to section 208 and 159 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and is standing trial at the Kaneshie District Court presided over by her worship Rosemond Dodua Agyiri.

At the last court sitting on June 01, 2020, Police Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Asare pleaded with the Court to adjourn sitting to allow the State to complete its investigations into the matter.

Magistrate Dodua Agyiri obliged the Prosecution and adjourned sitting to July 20, 2020.
