Just In: Four Women Arrested For Allegedly Selling A Newborn Baby.

Authorities of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have captured four ladies for supposedly selling an infant for N1,500,000.

The ladies were strutted before newsmen on Thursday, September 3. As indicated by NAPTIP authorities, two of the ladies, Bernadette Ihezuo and Cecilia Onyema, are government employees with the Federal Ministry of Finance Abuja, and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, separately. The third suspect, Okasi Ekeoma, is supposed to be Onyema’s sister, while the fourth suspect is the child’s grandma Harrieth Nmezi who dwells in Imo state.

As indicated by NAPTIP authorities, the adolescent young lady got pregnant while remaining with her mom who at that point took her to Onyema’s habitation where she lived until she conveyed her child. Following conveyance, different ladies took the youngster from the youthful mother and auctions off the infant.

They were captured following a hint got by certain individuals from general society.

The infant has been protected while the suspects have admitted to the wrongdoing and will be summoned in court soon.
