Diella TekuVeteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo has expressed strong criticism towards men who neglect their financial responsibilities in marriage, asserting that such men “have no right to intimacy.”
In an Instagram post spotted by adwoaadubianews.com, the 62-year-old actor highlighted the critical role of financial provision in family life, emphasizing that a man’s duty to provide for his household is both a societal and moral obligation, deeply rooted in sacred teachings.
Kanayo urged men to embrace hard work and financial accountability as key pillars of their role within the family. He warned that failing to do so not only strains marriages but also undermines the wellbeing of their spouses and children. He stressed that women should not enable their husbands’ irresponsibility by shielding them from these obligations, as it only fosters “laziness and irresponsibility.”
Speaking from personal experience, Kanayo described the burdens placed on women when men neglect their duties, pointing to the pressure this creates in families, especially when it comes to crucial expenses like school fees. He implored young women to be discerning when choosing life partners, advising them to select men who understand and respect the responsibility of providing for their families.
Kanayo concluded by calling on men to step up, work hard, and take charge of their financial duties, reminding them that shirking these responsibilities is detrimental to both their families and their own progress.
