The Ghana Police Service has apprehended Fatawu Ibrahim, also known as “Fatau Motorway,” a suspect wanted for his alleged role in violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Accra’s Mamobi district on October 13, 2024. Fatawu, who was seen wielding a gun in video footage captured during the altercation, is now in police custody and will soon face legal proceedings.
This arrest marks a significant step in ongoing efforts by the police and the Attorney General’s Office to address politically motivated violence, a concern that has heightened as the nation approaches its upcoming election season.
