La Liga confirms restart in June, clubs to resume training this week

In the official statement, La Liga has confirmed that teams will get back to training this week.

“La Liga clubs return to training this week following the approval by the Ministry of Health of the return to sports training,” the statement reads.

“In accordance with the Return to Training Protocol that La Liga has developed with medical experts, individual training of professional players from La Liga Santander and La Liga SmartBank (Spain’s second tier) is starting, once clubs have carried out medical tests.”

Meanwhile, clubs in England are also gearing up for the potential restart in June with regular training sessions expected to resume in May. The remaining matches are going to be played at neutral venues without fans.

Liverpool have 9 Premier League games left to play. The Reds are currently 25 points clear and need a maximum of six points to mathematically secure the PL title.
