A motor rider commonly referred to as an Okada Operatordied on the spot while another is in critical condition after they collided head-on with a Toyota Vitz car at Nyamekye Junction near Lapaz.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 14, 2021, when the motor rider with his pillion, tried to maneuver from the Darkuman stretch of the road to the other land running into the salon car.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to MyNewsGh.com, the pillion rider after the crash flew over and landed on his neck while the rider himself fell on another side and sustained severe injuries.
He was rushed to a health facility by policemen Darkuman who were at the scene while the pillion rider who died on the spot was taken to the Police Hospital Mortuary.
Accidents involving motorbikes on that intersection are common in view of the non-adherence of motor riders to road signs among others.
