FrimpongSome Ghanaians on Twitter have heaped praises on former president John Dramani Mahama for his role in the fight against Coronavirus in the country.
They acknowledged his contributions to healthcare infrastructure which according to them has become an essential tool for the government.
“@JDMahama you are really visionary. Without these hospitals, Ghana would have been in a big shit by now. God bless you for serving your Country well @COVID-19,” A twitter user wrote.
“As we celebrate Free Water, Can we shelve the hypocrisy for a minute to Celebrate John Mahama for this magnificent Nungua Water Plant, shall we?” a tweet read.
“At the #Lockdownday10 of the #COVID19Ghana, I have no doubt that His Excellency President @NAkufoAddo is the biggest scam to hit Ghana allegedly. Just look at a former President @JDMahama’s fight against the #covid19,” another tweet read.
A tweep also posted; “COVID 19 really showed us how important Mahama’s investment in the health sector was. The lies, the propaganda have all been exposed,”

According to them, the government’s decision to absorb water bills is not enough as about 70percent of Ghanaians do not even have taps in their homes.
Some also say government should cut down the cost of data and also waive electricity bills.
“So 70% of Ghanaians don’t even have piped water inside their house or compound. Wow data is a powerful thing #Lockdownday10,” A twitter user posted
“Even small Togo is providing relief to citizens by completely absorbing tariffs and among other interventions. Meanwhile, the president of Ghana only wants to pay water bills and get away with it. Govt must take the cost of electricity and also reduce the cost of data by removing 50% of the Communications Service Tax. We are not in normal times,” another wrote
They are also calling for more solid interventions from the government than the free water and distribution of free food which they believe some individuals in deprived communities have still not benefited from.
