Popular Ghanaian comedian and actor Kalybos recently opened up about the realities of relationships, emphasizing that long-term commitment doesn’t necessarily mean a relationship is destined for marriage. Speaking on an episode of the Girl’s Aloud podcast, Kalybos shared that he ended his five-year relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Frimpongmaa, because he felt things weren’t aligning as hoped.

“Being with someone for a long time doesn’t mean you have to settle,” Kalybos explained. “Sometimes, even after years together, you realize that something just isn’t working.” When one of the hosts probed further, asking if things weren’t going as planned with Frimpongmaa, he confirmed with a candid, “No, it wasn’t.”

Kalybos’ perspective sheds light on the importance of compatibility over time spent together, highlighting that each relationship comes with its own learning experiences. After parting ways with Frimpongmaa, he eventually married his wife, Antwiwaa, in November of last year. With a humorous note, he teased that her affluent background and international experiences were a bonus, joking, “Yeah, because she has money. She’s a rich woman.”

Reflecting on his marriage as they approached their first anniversary, Kalybos celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt post, expressing gratitude for their union. His journey, from a lengthy relationship that didn’t last to a new chapter with Antwiwaa, offers a reminder that relationships evolve and that true connection may come when least expected.
