“[In August] Koeman told me I wasn’t in his plans. Then he said ‘If we don’t figure this out by tomorrow, you’re back in my plans,’” Luis Suarez has said in an interview with Cadena COPE.
“I saw then that the man [Koeman] had no personality. He wasn’t strong enough to tell me I’m not needed.
“The decision [to sell me] came from the board.”
Barcelona decided to part company with the Uruguayan last year.
The 34-year-old joined Atletico Madrid in September and has gone on to lead the Rojiblancos to their first La Liga title since 2014 by scoring 21 goals in 32 league appearances.
