Italian club, Lazio have confirmed Maurizio Sarri will be their new manager with a hilarious cigarette tweet.
The 62-year-old will take charge of the Serie A giants and they poked fun at the ex-Chelsea boss’ chain-smoking habit on Twitter.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news via his Twitter account.
He wrote: Maurizio Sarri has just signed his contract as new Lazio manager until June 2023. Official. #Lazio #SerieA.”
Sarri, a former bank manager, reportedly signed a two-year deal until June 2023 and will oversee a new era for Lazio. There are also potential add-ons – depending on qualification for Europe and winning Serie A.
The ex-Napoli manager has been jobless since Juventus sacked him last August following 14 months in charge. He replaces Simone Inzaghi who has since departed the club for Inter Milan.
