The athlete has indicated interest in playing for the Black Stars by retweeting and like a message from the official Black Stars Twitter account.
On April 1, 2022, the Atletico Bilbao forward liked and retweeted the official Black Stars World Group. His actions fueled suspicions that he had finally agreed to represent Ghana after rejecting the GFA’s offer.
While Inaki acknowledged the GFA’s proposal to The Guardian in 2021, he said his mother would worry if he accepted.
“Gratitude for my upbringing and identity. But I was born in Bilbao, Spain. I’ll never forget my origins, but I’m Basque and can’t lie. “I’m sure I’d feel at ease in Ghana, but I shouldn’t be,” Williams told The Guardian.
“And my mom understands how much football is loved there, and she worries about me.
Inaki Williams grew up in Basque, Spain. GFA has long sought him out. For him and other top-performing Ghanaian players born overseas, the FA is targeting the World Cup
As a reminder, Ghana has been placed in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
