FrimpongLaunched in 2017, MyNewsGh.com has become the go-to news website for newsreaders in Ghana and across the world, especially in the US, Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and Italy among others.
The PhD Research, titled “A Critical Study of Informal Fallacies in some socio-political discourse in Ghana” examined how Ghanaian newsmakers’ statements are geared towards influencing public opinion and how sometimes the content of their statements mislead the public.
The 290-page University of South Africa Research authored by Dr. Richard Ansah and sponsored by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) cited for example, a story published by MyNewsGh.com on May 24, 2018 in which Kwame A-Plus alleged that an appointee of President Akufo-Addo had allegedly splashed out Ghs100,000 (one hundred thousand Cedis) to pay for a single flight ticket. Kwame A Plus had said a lot is happening on the blind side of the President.
The Research among many others said A Plus used a fallacy and had no evidence for his claim. The Research justified why these allegations must be critically examined and interrogated by the public before being influenced by it as it lacks any evidence.

Only Reference in African Auditors Association correspondence
This South African PhD is not the first time MyNewsGh.com has been referenced.
Last year, the Board Chairman of the Audit Service, Edward Agyeman Dua had only one media reference in his correspondence to the African Association of Auditors over the Domelevo tussle. The one reference was a MyNewsGh.com comprehensive transcript of an interview by Daniel Domelovo which no other media in Ghana reported.
